Round One: The Sizzlin’ 64:

Some of these were hard choices. Hazelwood & Sinatra vs. The Sundays? Tough call. Looking forward to the next round!
Chuck, are we allowed to make a wild card suggestion in the comments?
Sure, as long as the suggestions have the word “Summer” in the title.

Cruel Summer for the win.
Which one? Its obvious isn’t it?
Then again, there’s Summer Breeze.
Tough call.
Where are the Beach Boys?

One of my favorite Beach Boys hits, for sure.
Jefferson Airplane’s “Summer of Love” could be competitive for a few rounds.
I know we all see Bobby Goldsboro’s name and cringe, but that song “Summer (The First Time)” is gorgeous, even if the lyrics may be TMI. But it was up against Chad and Jeremy, and I love “Summer Song”.
Only other song that came to mind that was missing was “Summer Samba (So Nice)” by Walter Wanderly which reached #26 HOT100, #3 Easy Listening in 1966.
I second that endorsement for Summer Samba as a wild card, Link. Over 3 million views on YouTube ain’t bad, IMO. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VGNwXq6vPoI
