Hey, good friends,
I’m working on a lot of things in the background for this new site. It’s too much fun.
Before I go much further, I wanted to ask you all for your thoughts about when to post new content.
Our current shared experience happens on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Mercifully, we get the weekend off. Well, some of us, anyway…
What would you all say to seeing new content on Tuesdays and Thursdays, or possibly Friday afternoon? One of the nice things about SG is that we all have come to expect the thrice weekly get together. I think some some form of consistency might make this a fun hang out as well.
What are your thoughts? Would love to hear what you all think about this.
Thank you, from your humble servant,
mt

So I won’t have a single productive weekday all week? Count me in for Tuesday and Thursday! 😆
Friday afternoon is my hang time with the Shut Up Dude folks (some overlap with TNOCS), so maybe not an ideal time from my POV.
Of course, any flight of fancy that strikes you mt58, run with it and we’ll follow. It’s your world and we live in it (now literally and not just metaphorically).
Hmmm. I think this is a labor of love on your part, mt, so I wouldn’t want to tie you down to a particular schedule. That gigantic brain of yours needs a break every now and then.
Having said that, if you have new content, Tuesdays and Thursdays sound good.
What are you envisioning in terms of posts that generate conversations? In other words, what would come up on Tuesday and Thursdays?
I’ll be home a little later. I will definitely clarify this for everybody.
I love the idea of Tuesday, Thursday content to fill in the time between, I’m gonna have to get creative!
Perfect foreshadowing. You are correct; we are going to need content
More on this in a little bit.
I would love to see new content on Tuesdays, Thursday, and maybe Friday afternoons as well. This way, we can get to the virtual day possibly in time for Valentine’s Day 2023 (give or take a few weeks.)
Even with the Top 5 Songs of the Week and Shut Up, Dude as regular features, this would be a welcome sight. The 3 days a week on TNOCS has been interesting, but we need the timeline to move a bit faster than it has been.
Who needs productivity? Tuesdays and Thursdays sounds great.
W: “I didn’t know we had a King. I thought we were an autonomous collective.”
D: “You’re fooling yourself. We’re livin’ in a dictatorship, a self-perpetuating autocracy, in which the working class–”
W: “Oh, there you go, bringing class into it again–”
D: “But that’s what it’s all about! If only people would listen–”
A: “Please, please, good people! I am in haste. Whose castle is that?”
W: “No one lives there.”
A: “Then who is your lord?”
W: “We don’t have a lord.”
A: “What?”
D: “I told you. We’re an anarcho-syndicalist commune. We take it in turn, to act as sort of executive officer for the week–”
A: Yes I see.”
D: “–but all the decisions of that officer have to be ratified at a special bi-weekly meeting–”
A: “Yes, I see.”
D: “–by a simple majority, in the case of purely internal affairs–”
A: “Be quiet.”
D: “–or by a two-thirds majority, in the case of–”
A: “Be quiet, I order you, be quiet!”
W: “Order, eh? Who’s he think he is?”
A: “Why, I am your King!”
W: “I didn’t vote for you.”
A: “You don’t vote for Kings.”
W: “Well, how’d you become King, then?”
A: “The Lady of the Lake,… [angels sing] …her arm clad in the purest shimmering samite, held aloft Excalibur from the bosom of the water, signifying by divine providence that I, Arthur, was to carry Excalibur. [singing stops] THAT is why I’m your king!”
D: “Listen, strange women, lyin’ in ponds, distributin’ swords, is no basis for a system of government. SUPREME executive power derives from a mandate of the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony.”
A: “Shut up!”
D: “You can’t expect to wield supreme executive power just ’cause some watery tart threw a sword at you!”
A: “Shut up!”
D: “Why, if I went around, sayin’ I was an emperor, just ’cause some moistened bint had lobbed a scimitar at me, they’d put me away!”
I think the Monty Python quote above perfectly summarizes my feelings about responsibility for content.
Mt58, you have the mandate of the masses. And we in will gladly take turns as executive officer for the column under your leadership. Votes will be simple majority in the case of purely domestic affairs… etc…
Plague?
“Plague” indeed!
Noank.
just went to SUD to ask a question to the regular old sods and found out about this. incredible things happen when you don’t read the comments for like, 8 weeks.
this is clearly bullshit and i can’t wait until carly rae jepsen shows up.
No comments for 8 weeks? That’s sheer will power in action.
Nice to see you. Welcome.
